Day 7

Woo hoo! One week! Only 51 more for a year! Just kidding. πŸ€ͺ One day at a time and all that. I am looking forward to the weekend. I am also very seriously considering taking this opportunity of choosing a new school to get my family out of this big, busy rat race of a city we live in and move to my mom’s small mountain town for middle school. Where my kid could learn to ski at local’s prices and ride her bike to school. Go camping without having to make a reservation six months in advance! Be closer to nature. Where my mom might not be miserable in her assisted living place. Sounds nice, huh? Best wishes for you (and me!) today.

xoxo

  1. Wow, that sounds like a great plan! Congrats on one week …one of the toughest for sure for me. If you look closer you’ll start to see beautiful glimmers of you coming back into focus.😊

  2. It’s a great time to make that transition. Plus they say a new environment can support new habits. Dwight might have more insight into that aspect. Lower stress and less driving around is good. However, one thing I would say living in a small town myself is that teenagers find the limited activities tough and it leads to more partying and messing around. I have spent a lot of time driving my teenagers all over the county etc to support their social lives. I had the good luck to be warned in advance so I was never bitter about it, but some parents get mad about it.

    1. Yes, I remember what the teen years were like in that same small town. That’s definitely what has held me back before, although the city has some big drawbacks, too. If we go, we may not stay for high school.
